CAST actively carries out international exchanges with foreign science and technology organizations and personnel and promotes international cooperation in science and technology.

At present, CAST and its affiliated societies, on behalf of the Chinese scientific community, have joined more than 200 international organizations of science and technology such as the International Council for Science. As a non-governmental consultative organization to the UN Economic and Social Council, CAST actively engages in the UN activities in fields such as information and communication technology (ICT), energy and environment, life science and human heath, in accordance with the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations.
